View Curriculum Fourth Grade

The following subjects are required for fourth grade:
 

Grammar
Grammar comprises one half of the English requirement for fourth grade (the other part being reading).

If your student struggles with grammar, we do offer a remedial fourth grade course.

Note: You may, or we might, choose different courses from different grade levels if they are more appropriate for your student. CLASS reserves the right to modify course selection based on standardized test scores, course availability, and previous course assignments.

Course Description: This course combines grammar and writing (in alternating chapters) to teach students both the mechanics and the use of English. Writing topics use the five-step writing process and include: personal narratives, friendly letters with instructions, compare-contrast essays, book reviews, tall tales, business letters, haiku, acrostic poems, and research reports.
